Anna Schwengel is a Chinese American artist. A graduate of George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology high school and a 2020 graduate of the Maryland Institute college of Art. Her art centers around the traditional mediums including but not limited to sculpting oil clay, oil and watercolor painting, charcoal, and graphite drawing. Her art is ever-changing as she grows in her art practice. She has had several notable internships. In 2018 she assisted anaplastologist, Juan Garcia, at the Johns Hopkins Art as Applied to Medicine program. In 2019 she assisted sculptor, Jay Hall Carpenter at his studio in Silver Spring, MD. She has been an art tutor of middle school students applying to the visual arts program at the George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology. Anna won second place intermediate level in Johns Hopkins Medicine National Arts Program. Her most recent position was assisting as one of two illustrators in a Medical Triage board game called “Influx!” where she illustrated the patient cards used in the game. Schwengel currently resides in Baltimore working towards a masters in Medical Illustration.
